Alaska Travel and Tours

Russian River The Russian River
The Russian River is a very popular 13-mile-long river on the Kenai Peninsula that flows northward from Upper Russian Lake in the Kenai Mountains through Lower Russian Lake, draining into the Kenai River. There are two distinct sockeye runs that return to this area. The early run usually arrives by June 15th; with an average return of about 70,00 fish, half of which is usually caught by sports anglers. The late run just started on July 22nd. The fishing it hot right now and probably will last at least two weeks.
ANWR ANWR - The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
ANWR is a whole lot more than just a flat wasteland that the oil companies claim it is. The people that live on the land want nothing to do with the drilling and the problems that go along with it. They know that if a major accident happens, they will have to leave their land forever.
