The 2025 Alaska State Fair is August 15th to September 1st

The Alaska State Fair is the home of record-setting giant vegetables and beautiful flower gardens. Nestled in the heart of the Chugach Mountains, in the fertile Matanuska-Susitna Valley the Fairgrounds are just an hour north of Anchorage. Each Fall, the Fair provides a setting for Alaska’s last blast of summer, a showcase of Alaska’s uniqueness and beauty. The Fair is held at the Palmer Fairgrounds about 40 miles north of Anchorage. Over 300,000 visitors show up to see lush flower gardens, record-setting giant vegetables and musical entertainment. Nestled in the heart of the Chugach Mountains, in the fertile Matanuska-Susitna Valley the Alaska State Fairgrounds are just an hour north of Anchorage.

Alaska State Fair Location and Access:

The Alaska State Fair grounds are located just an hour’s drive north of Anchorage at mile 40 on the Glenn Highway. Once at the Fair there are four entrance gates. Three gates, the Purple, Red and Yellow, have parking areas. The fourth, the Green Gate, serves as a drop-off and pick-up zone, and as the depot for the Fair Train. No parking fee is required to access the entrance area to the Green Gate. Access is from the Inner Springer Road at the north end of the fairgrounds.

We ask that you not bring the following items on to Fair property:

Firearms, knives or weapons of any kind
Animals (except service dogs)
Alcoholic beverages
Bicycles, scooters, roller blades, roller skates or skateboards
Solicitation materials (and please refrain from soliciting)
Material distribution
